Wow, another full day of great learning.
I created my own YouTube channel and created a playlist!!
Watched an interesting deep dive on going live using drones etc. I learnt how to use Google drawings, which I knew nothing about. I can now insert a image and even change its shape and background. I can now add audio to a Google slide. I spent quite a bit of time trying to save the audio recording to my drive without much luck. Jumped back in the chat with Dave and 2 seconds later, easy. You just drag it into your drive, amazing!
The audio recording I did was on how to teach my class to do voice typing. So I will be sharing that slide with them tomorrow.
This may seem really simple, but it was a life saver for me, control D, mutes and un-mutes your mic in a Google hangout. I am so happy Venessa shared that with us in our group today.
I learnt quite a bit about Google slides, which I really do not have much knowledge of, so that was also handy.
In a team meeting earlier this week, someone said "how do you copy a file into more than one place", I piped up shift Z, I was quite proud I had remembered that learning.
Anyway, I am now going to attempt to add my audio slide into here.
Kia ora Michelle,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are making great strides in your learning. Go you! Really nice to be able to teach someone else what you know.
Ngā mihi,
Maria
Funny you should say that Maria, I helped someone the other day who was stuck trying to locate a file in their drive. I explained if they start in their drive in the place they want it to be saved it makes life much simpler. Just little tips can make life so much better :)
DeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeleteAdding audio to your slides will benefit your students in so many ways. The more barriers we can remove for our students, the better. How did your students respond to your audio slide? Can you think of some other ways you could use the audio tool with your students?
See you tomorrow. :)
Thanks Venessa, the children really enjoyed it. I noticed an error straight away. I had not said that they need to say "full stop" to make a full stop. So we had some very long sentences. We also found background voices a problem, we solved that by 4 children at a time going outside for peace and quiet. Lots of things we can use it for. The children really liked the idea of the voice typing publishing for them.
